Diggers camp. Yuraygir National Park is a water wonderland with isolated beaches, quiet lake systems and striking scenery. Yuraygir’s headlands and beaches feature some of the best surfing and fishing spots on the north coast.
There is no wind. Nor swell to speak of. What do you do to keep a surf mad boyfriend happy? Well I tried setting up the hammock with the perfect view to beach and made a cuppa while we watched the tide create a beautiful lagoon or drift out to show beautiful rock pools.
And when these pools emerged, it became the perfect place to explore and catch the swell through the myriad of linking pools. It was such a blissful way to try a different take on body surfing! All you have to do is choose a spot where the water runs quick- long alleys with a tunnel are the most fun!
Lay low, make sure you are in position as the water begins to rush back out to sea, wait and listen for the crashing wave. Get ready to rush through the rock alleys as the swell moves to shore to carve these great paths.
