One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” William Shakespeare
Wake up. Work. Cook. TV. Bed. Repeat.
Believe me. Everyone needs a dose of micro adventures to stay sane! Everybody needs to get away from the computer, get out in nature, get new inspiration and think about something different for a day or two. A micro adventure can really turn your life better:
Make Every Weekend Feel Like A Holiday
My favorite thing about microadventures is the feeling of always being on a holiday. You don’t need to drive for hours to discover or re discover new places. Try to experience places that you know well in a different way. Today, I spent the afternoon in the Springbrook National Park, Natural Bridge section. I know this place well but doing this short bush walk under the rain, meant that I saw the bush with different colours, not the usual birds around instead there were lizards everywhere. Try to see this with a different perspective!
Explore and Experience Your Surroundings
Living in Australia means that in one month, I can visit the desert, the mountains, and the beach. Most importantly, I have endless access to mountains and trails without having to drive more than an hour. Don’t think that the mountains made for a nice backdrop for the cities below, explore its trails! The same goes for museums, art galleries, and city parks. I can’t even count the number of times I would sit back and think “what is there to do?”.
Turn your mindset into “I’m going to find something to do”, the entire area opened up into a land of possibility.
Feed Your Wanderlust
The experiences and stories I’ve accumulated throughout my travels have made me a richer person.
My parents have always told me that it was experiences and not possessions that would give me the most satisfation in life – they were spot on!
I love travelling, meeting new people and listen to their stories. When I can’t go far due to budget or time, that’s when I go on micro adventures! Somewhere close where I don’t need to spend money or much time to get there!
Spend More Time With Those You Love
We work all week, and when we’re not at work we’re competing with social media, television, sleep, and other pursuits for quality time. Microadventures are great for having those long conversations and quality time with the ones we love. Whether you’re enjoying the silence of a remote place where you are camping, building a shelter on the beach, you are going to be enjoy the company of those around you.
