It’s said you could dive here everyday of your life and still not see all of the great barrier reef. With only few days to enjoying it and a multitude of ways to see it, choosing the right reef tour/ boat was truly a mission. Staggering from 600 tours it’s not easy- take aboard a glass bottomed boat, a scenic flight, or even on a land based reef walk. But we were here to dive and snorkel…
Boat trips vary dramatically in passenger number, number of dives, destination, and if they go inner or outer reef.
after a very good look, we decided to go in the SilverSwift catamaran, and I am glad we did! The catamaran only take small groups and the crew had intimate knowledge of the diving spots and the ecological diversity in the area. We ended up diving in 3 different spots in the outer reef – Flynn, Pellowe, Milln. This was all about being in the water, the boat went fast and straight to the diving spots, with plenty of time for each dive. And as they say, just bring on board your spirit of adventure.
(More photos of the reef coming very soon!)
