I’m a huge fan of authentic and tasty Vietnamese food. It’s a healthy and really tasty food to have on a night-out.  With a large Vietnamese population in Sydney, there is no shortage of excellent Vietnamese restaurants and takeaway options in the city and the quality is often high.  The range of Vietnamese restaurants on offer ranges from cheap no-frills affairs to high-end celebrity chef-run establishments, here’s a rundown of the best Sydney Vietnamese Restaurants. Below I’ve outlined my 5 favourite Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Enjoy!

Top 5 Sydney Vietnamese Restaurants

Pho Pasteur 709 George Street, Haymarket.

Situated in Chinatown, this is a gem of a restaurant which serves some of the best Pho (Vietnamese beef soup) that I’ve ever tasted.  The service and décor often leave something to be desired but the quality and great prices of the food more than  makes up for it.  Great as a lunch time option or cheap after-work dinner.

La Mint  62 – 64 Riley Street, Darlinghurst

La Mint is a fusion of Vietnamese and French flavours. It has a lovely ambience and their pork-belly is a must-try!

Phuoc Loc Tho 233

Canley Vale Road, Canley Heights
Try the seven delights of beef here – a traditional banquet where you sample 7 dishes centred around the meat.  The Vietnamese salads and summer rolls are also excellent here.

Red Lantern  545 Crown Street, Surry Hills

Book well in advance for this hugely popular restaurant.  Try the shrimp rolls in rice paper.

Hai An 48 Canley Vale Road, Canley Vale

Here you can sample the grill your own claynpot rice, fish soup and pork belly at this friendly family owned restaurant

If you’re feeling lazy…

and don’t want to leave the house to sample the delights of Vietnamese cuisine then there’s also some great Vietnamese takeaway options around these days.

I just had cravings for Vietnamese food! I love dining in restaurants like these but I have been on a meal replacements program to lose a few pounds.
