1 | Regroup Weekend With Friends
Remember when you were a kid, and you saw your friends at school every day? And you got to go to birthday parties nearly every weekend? As we get older, our friendship bonds go deeper than copying homework and playing pass the parcel. But as friends start getting married, having children or moving further away, it becomes harder to meet regularly. You could book a weekend spa break with your girlfriends. Or arrange a boys fishing trip. Perhaps you all fancy a couple of nights sleeping under the stars. All are great ways to reconnect with friends you don’t get to see so often. Try and schedule it in as a yearly event. It’s great to do this near Christmas and share out silly presents. Or choose someone’s birthday each year and celebrate in style. Getting away from your daily life for a weekend with friends is good for the soul.
2| Treating Mum or Dad
Don’t forget all those holidays you were treated to when you were young. It may turn out that they weren’t so much fun for your parents. Imagine having to spend all your time at amusement parks? Maybe you woke up them early because you wanted to play and they probably had to babysit you at night. We’re not saying they didn’t want to do it, but it’s time to pay them back by taking them away on a weekend break with the grown up you. You could choose father’s day to have a weekend with your dad, and likewise mother’s day for your mum. Choose something they will enjoy. They might like to visit a favourite city from their childhood. Or dad might want a weekend camping. Mum might fancy a health resort and dad might like an adventure weekend (or vice versa)! You could go to a winery, get back to nature or book a golf break. It’s a great way to build a special bond between the two of you, and you’ll come away with shared memories.
3| Romantic Weekend Break
Does your relationship need spicing up? Are you both over-worked and under pleased? Perhaps you are like passing ships in the night. If so, it’s time to spend some quality time together. A romantic weekend getaway in Western Australia is the perfect place to spoil each other. Sip cocktails, go swimming and play games. Sleep in, have breakfast in bed and take romantic evening strolls. Take a day trip to a nearby island, swim with whale sharks or go wine tasting. You could choose a special anniversary to celebrate or just go for the hell of it! Here are some great reasons why taking a romantic break is important for your relationship. If you can’t afford to go far, here are some super tips on how to enjoy a staycation.
4| Going Solo
Have you ever just wanted to get away from everything and everyone? It doesn’t mean you’re anti-social; it just means you’re interested in taking care of your soul. Going solo for a long weekend is the perfect way to unwind. You get to do what you want when you want to. You don’t have to worry about people pleasing. Bali is a beautiful place to take a mini yoga or spiritual retreat. Likewise, a cultural weekend away is a great way to discover yourself again. Solo travel is empowering. It takes you out of your comfort zone. You may also meet some new friends along the way.
